Each of these pieces comes from a limited addition society where the artist has numbered and signed each piece. After spending uncountable hours studying their subjects, the artists will produce a rough clay sculpture to check their base work in shape and form. Than the master sculptor will create a scaled and atomically accurate version of the sculpture. From this state each piece is than coated with a silicone rubber and plaster casting. The next stage involves a resin replica made from the silicone casting, and after being checked by the artist for accuracy, finally molds are pressed. Many of them use pewter for a base on which they will composite various metals, such as bronze, copper and even 24k gold. Using hot-torched acid patinas, the pieces are than finally colored and recast in Lucite depending on the piece.
